The course is designed to expose high school teachers to modern research topics, introduce teachers to nanoscience, generate teacher interest, and increase chemistry teachers' nanoliteracy by providing them with the basic principles of nanoscience:
- Phenomenological quantum mechanics
- Materials characterization methods: XPS, X-ray diffraction, AFM/STM, SEM, TEM, Leitus-transport measurements.
- Materials science
- Quantum dots
- Plastic (opto)electronics
- Fullerenes and nanotubes
- Photovoltaic cells
- Advanced composites
- Blue light sources
Upon successful completion of the course- students should be able to:
Demonstrate proficiency in the basic principles of nanoscience (nanoliteracy) and in some of the modern research topics in nanoscience and nanotechnology.
Each students will receive a file with selected papers acording to his/her chosen topic.
