There is a prerequisite of taking the basic proteomics course on protein analysis by mass spectrometry.
Only people who took the course 'analysis of proteins using mass spectrometry' can register. Exceptions to this will be considered on a case per case basis.
Attendance and participation
No final exam or assignment
Estimated Weekly Independent Workload (in hours)
Mass spectrometry based proteomics is an evolving field with significant advances both in instrumentation and software over the past few years.
The technology provides large amount of data and information and thus requires specialised software for processing and interpretation.
The course will focus on the basics of proteomic data processing and analysis, with emphasis on using freely available software hands-on.
Upon successful completion of this course students should be able to:
- Process discovery proteomics data.
- Evaluate quality of proteomics data.
- Process targeted proteomics data.
