Syllabus
This is the first course in a sequence of three, in which students are learning toward their final project in the program. During the course students are introduced to the qualitative reseaech paradigm and action research. They are also experiencing the implementation of methods from this resarch paradigm on their own teaching and their students learning.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course students should be able to:
- Explain in their own words the philosophy of the qualitative research paradigm.
- Apply research tools from the literature to analyze their own teaching or their students learning.
- Explain in their own words research articles they have read throughout the semester.
- Formulate a research question which includes measurable variables.
- Analyze data collected through qualitative evaluation tools.
- Write a discussion including a reflection on how the outcome of the data may influence their future teaching.

Each student will receive individual list of suggested reading according to the subject of their project.
