They will have hands-on experience utilizing these tools and will become familiar with the type of experimental questions that can be addressed by the various bioinformatics tool. In addition using the knowledge obtained during the course each student will generate a web page describing and demonstrating the biological, bioinformatics and structural features of a protein of choice relevant for biology high-school students. These pages will create a free protein database in Hebrew and Arabic aim specifically to biology and biotechnology high-school students

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate proficiency in the theoretical basis as well as practical aspects of the key tools in Bioinformatics.
  2. Utilize the key tools in bioinformatics.
  3. Cope with experimental questions that can be addressed by the various bioinformatics tools.
  4. Describe and demonstrate the biological, bioinformatics and structural features of a protein relevant for biology high-school students.
