Syllabus
- General theme (experiment theory experiment cycle), Effective theories at low energies.
- Superfluidity and Superconductivity: phenomenological approach.
- QHE, Topology of Graphene (Band Structure) , Topological insulators.
- Magnetism and Quantum magnetism.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course students should be able to:
- Demonstrate understanding of the phenomenological aspects of super-fluidity and superconductivity, a few topological phenomena in condensed matter physics and the basic of magnetism - both in physical terms and more technical terms.
- Continue their studies to the second course of condensed matter and more advance courses that include microscopic theories.
