Syllabus

1. Field theories in 2D

2. RG and fixed points

3. Conformal symmetry and conformal field theories - Techniques and models. 

4. Optional: CS and WZW (depending on time constraints). 

5. Exact general statements: Zamolodchikov metric, C-theorem, Cardy formula, conformal blocks, entanglement computation. 

6. Integrable and solvable (or partially solvable) models. 

7. SLE (depending on time constraints). 

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Carry out computations in field theories with RG flow in low dimensions.
  2. Carry out computations in scale invariant field theories in low dimensions. 
  3. Familiarize him/herself with specific classes of models. 
  4. Carry out computations in integrable or solvable field theories.
