Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course students will be able to:

  1. Describe fundamental concepts in the primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary structure of proteins.
  2. Explain how the structure of a protein affects its function.
  3. Explain the energetics and forces that govern stability and folding of proteins.
  4. Demonstrate proficiency in new techniques that are used to characterize protein structure and function.
  5. Analyze experimental data.
  6. Work with proteapedia including constructing their own proteopedia pages for the benefit of other chemistry teachers and students.
