Syllabus

An introduction to the basic concepts and notion in symplectic geometry and Hamiltonian dynamics:

Hamiltonian formalism of classical mechanics, symplectic manifolds, Hamiltonian flows and periodic orbits, symplectic embedding problems and symplectic capacities.

Learning Outcomes

One will be familiar with the basic objects in the field and their properties, and understand some of the connections between the geometric and dynamical sides.
