Syllabus
Most of three-hour lessons of the course will consist of two parts: (1) an interactive lecture on selected topics in mathematics and science; (2) small-group work on posing new problems based on the lecture’s activity. Most of the home assignments will require from the participants to continue problem posing up to formulation of a high-quality problem for others to solve.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course students will be able to:
- better understand some connections of high school mathematics to modern mathematics.
- use different approaches to problems outside of high school curriculum.
- develop skills of creating new problems for high school students.
