Syllabus

Most of three-hour lessons of the course will consist of two parts: (1) an interactive lecture on selected topics in mathematics and science; (2) small-group work on posing new problems based on the lecture’s activity.  Most of the home assignments will require from the participants to continue problem posing up to formulation of a high-quality problem for others to solve.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course students will be able to:

  1. better understand some connections of high school mathematics to modern mathematics.
  2. use different approaches to problems outside of high school curriculum.
