Syllabus

The aim of this course is to teach MSc and PhD students with some experience in research, how to improve their scientific communication skills. This will be taught from the perspective of scientists, and hence the course will not be about English grammar etc, but on the subtleties of the scientific style of writing, and the art of oral communication in front of a scientific audience. The course will involve active participation in giving oral presentations, and the course grade will be based on the quality of the participation, as well as final written and oral assignments. The course is open to students from all faculties.

 

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course students should be able to: 

  1. Demonstrate improved scientific writing skills. 
  2. Demonstrate proficiency in oral presentation of scientific research results.
