Syllabus

Sustainability basics: Circular economy, Recycling and biodegrading, Energy cost/durability, Environmental and health  issues.

Present and future of man-made materials: Inorganics (concrete, metals, etc), Organics (small molecules and polymers), plastic recycling and degradation, composites. 

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course students should be able to understand and analyze problems and solution related to materials sustainability, energy cost and circular economy concepts and concerns, as well as develop thinking related to  future solutions.
