Syllabus

  1. Bioinformatic analysis of proteins.
  2. Protein purification using: affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion.
  3. Protein analysis: removal of tags, SDS PAGE, dialysis, concentration of proteins and methods to determine protein concentration.
  4. Protein size and protein-protein interactions: size exclusion and native gels.
  5. Crystallization of proteins
  6. 3D structure determination and preliminary structure analysis.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course students should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate basic knowledge and experience in protein bioinformatics, purification, analysis, crystallization, and 3D structure determination.
