Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course students should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate understanding of the main processes governing the transport and transformation of chemical contaminants (natural and anthropogenic) in the environment.
  2. Recognize the chemical-physical properties of the subsurface environment, and selected groups of contaminants.
  3. Determine the partitioning scheme of chemicals in the geosystem and sorption processes.
  4. Know major chemical transformations of selected chemical in the geosystem
  5. Consider and compare remediation technologies.
